Grilled Teriyaki Tofu Sliders

Marinade your Quick & Tasty Tofu in this simple teriyaki sauce, leave it for a couple of hours (or overnight if you feel extra organised), and layer it into a bun with fresh salad and extra sauce!

1 pack Cauldron Quick & Tasty Tofu
2 vegan burger buns or soft bread rolls
1 tsp cornflour

For the Teriyaki marinade:
1 garlic clove, grated
¼ tsp grated ginger
60 ml sake (rice wine)
60 ml mirin
60 ml soya sauce
2 tbsp light brown sugar

For the slider topping (optional)
Lettuce or rocket salad
Kimchi or pickled slaw
Grilled courgette slices
Spicy Shichimi Hummus
Gochujang mayo
Fresh coriander
Sesame seeds


  1. Drain the pack of tofu and cut the block into 6 equal slices, then place them in a container.
  2. Mix the ingredients for the Teriyaki marinade in a bowl, then pour it over the tofu. Close the container with a lid and give it a good shake to evenly cover the tofu. Place the container in the fridge for a minimum of 1 hour to marinate.
  3. In the meantime, prepare the rest of the ingredients for your sliders: lightly toast your buns, mix 1 tbsp of Gochujang paste into 5 tbsp of vegan mayo, grill some courgette slices (or your favourite veggies!) and stir a teaspoon of shichimi seasoning into hummus.
  4. Heat an electric grill and place the marinates onto the hot plates. It should be sizzling as soon as the tofu hits the grill. Grill all tofu slices on both sides until golden.
  5. Transfer the leftover marinade into a saucepan, whisk in the cornflour and stir over low/medium heat until the sauce thickens.
  6. To assemble your sliders, spread the shichimi hummus onto the bottom bun, place lettuce or rocket salad on top, add grilled courgette slices and grilled tofu, and drizzle with the teriyaki sauce, top with slaw, and drizzle generously with gochujang mayo.
  7. Sprinkle with fresh coriander and sesame seeds, place the top bun on top and you’re ready to dig in!
