Crispy Sharing Tofu Sticks

A delicious starter to share at any time. Crispy, tasty and very simple to make. They’re gluten-free, vegan and ready in 20 minutes!

Ingredients

1 pack Cauldron Organic Tofu block, drained and pressed
1 cup plain flour (100g)
1/3 cup (85ml) milk of choice
1 tsp nutmeg (optional)
Large pinch salt & pepper
Sunflower/vegetable oil
Cranberry sauce for dipping

Method

  1. Firstly drain and press your Cauldron Original Tofu Block
  2. Meanwhile, slowly heat a large frying pan with about 1cm of oil covering the bottom
  3. Now in one bowl add the flour, nutmeg, salt and pepper and mix
  4. Now in another bowl, add the milk
  5. Once the tofu is ready, slice into sticks
  6. Dip a stick into the milk until covered, roll into the flour, back into the milk and back into the flour to get a good coating. Repeat with all the sticks
  7. Gently place the sticks into the hot oil making sure they’re not too close to each other and fry on either side until golden
  8. Simply serve with cranberry sauce

Chef's tip

You can swap plain flour for a gluten-free option, and almond milk works especially well in this recipe!
