Sweet & Sticky Tofu Burger
This Chinese inspired Sweet & Sticky Tofu Burger recipe is packed with flavour! Made with our friends at @stpierreuk and @florettesalad, this lip-smacking veggie fusion burger on a golden St Pierre brioche bun, layered with a delicious Florette slaw is simply irresistible!
Made with our Extra Firm Plant-Based Tofu
Ingredients:
For the tofu burgers
220g Cauldron Extra Firm Tofu
1 1/2 tbsp flour
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp honey
Finely grated ginger (small thumb)
Finely grated garlic (1-2 cloves)
1 tsp sesame oil
To serve
St Pierre Brioche Burger Buns, halved and toasted
Florette Chinese-Inspired Slaw
1/4 Cucumber, peeled into ribbons
1/4 Carrot, grated
Vegan mayonnaise
Coriander (to garnish, optional)
Sesame seeds (to garnish, optional)
Method:
Combine the soy sauce and honey in a bowl, then let the Cauldron Extra Firm Tofu block marinate for around 10-15 minutes.
When marinated, crumble the tofu block into small pieces, then add the flour, ginger and garlic to the same bowl and combine.
Next, make the burger patties. Dust your hands with flour to prevent stickiness and gently press the mixture together to form two thick burger patties.
Heat the oil over a medium to high heat and fry the patties for around 3-5 minutes on each side.
Layer the cooked tofu burgers with Florette Chinese inspired slaw, cucumber ribbons, grated carrot, coriander & sesame seeds, and serve in a St Pierre Brioche Burger Bun for a fusion of flavour!
