Rising Stars of the Street Food Scene

Vegetarian street food has exploded onto the streets of the UK and our favourite markets now feature eclectic mixes of vendors who are passionate about serving up mind-blowing vegetarian food.

With National Vegetarian Week just around the corner (18-24 May), we’re shining the spotlight on one of the rising stars of the street food scene, who is fighting to feed the masses the best vegan food out there. Throwing punches for vegan street food, we give you…The Mighty Food Fight!

Proud to be Vegan

With some serious doughnut puns, flavour experimentation and savoury, but sometimes sugary balls (yes, balls); Bristol-based vendor, The Mighty Food Fight, is representing the vegan street food scene with its delicious street food.

Chief cooks and owners, Hannah and Isabel (pictured right), have been vegans for most of their lives.

Using plant-based produce to create tasty, ethical food, they serve up delicious sub rolls and salad boxes, peppered with some stunning delights like lime slaw and almond-butter kale. Hannah and Isabel change their menu weekly based on what produce is available from their supplier, Bristol Sweet Mart.

The Mighty Food Fight has serious balls!

A bit like a falafel, The Mighty Food Fight’s “tasty balls” are made from chickpeas, roasted butternut squash, herbs and spices, which are then rolled in polenta, and deep-fried to give a delicious, crispy coating.

Sample their specials menu and you’ll be greeted with southern fried tofu slices, breaded aubergine and an array of tempting fillings. The guys also whip up sides and sauces galore, so you definitely won’t leave hungry.

We asked for a sneak peek into their summer menu and we can exclusively reveal that tofu balls are in the pipeline (amazing)!

Interested in sampling The Mighty Food Fight’s flavours? You can find them on Mondays and Tuesdays at Bristol Old Market. The foodies frequently appear at BEATS (Bristol Eat); and can often be found travelling around Bristol. Check the ladies out at Veg Fest on the 23rd May.
