You don’t have to consider yourself a ‘junk food vegan’ in order to really enjoy some vegan junk food every once in a while! You can follow a relatively healthy vegan diet and indulge yourself, why not – we’re heading into Winter, after all. We use this month’s blog to explore some of our favourite vegan comfort food recipes so put away the takeaway menu and bring up Netflix, because we’ve got you covered this cold season.

What is vegan junk food?

Simply put, ‘vegan junk food’ is exactly what it says on the tin; typically unhealthy food that doesn’t contain any animal meat or produce. Sometimes, transitioning to becoming a vegan can be difficult, and it’s easy to feel restricted when you decide to cut out meat, dairy, eggs and sometimes even honey from your diet. However, it’s a common misconception that just because you become vegan, you have to eat healthily and cut out all those cravings you get every once in a while! We’ve outlined below some of our favourite vegan ‘junk food’ recipes – but shh, the secret is that they’re also not that unhealthy!

1. Vegan Fish & Chips

Fish and chips is a classic Friday dinner comfort food, and who says you have to give up that tradition when you’re vegan!? Why not give our tried and tested tofu and chips version a go, you won’t be disappointed!

2. Vegan Coconut & Blueberry Pancakes

There’s nothing like a pancake stack in the morning (or any time of day, let’s be honest) to really make you feel comforted! Our pancake stack is made from blended tofu so not only will you get a hit of sweetness, but you’ll also get some goodness too.

3. Vegan Southern Fried Tofu
