    Hi

I am devestated that I cannot find the marinated tofu pieces in my local supermarkets any more. I live in Chapeltown Sheffield, and shop at Asda, Morrisons and various health food shop. Do you have a list of shops supplied in this area. I enjoy many of your products but this is my favourite and I use it a lot. Please help a starving woman.

    Yours ever thining, Lynda Jackson

    Thank you.

    Lynda,
Thank you for your query, and sorry to hear that you can’t find your favourite Cauldron product at the moment. Organic Marinated Tofu Pieces are taken by Asda, Tesco, Sainsbury’s and Waitrose, but they choose which of their stores to have it stocked in. It’s the same with Health Food shops - they choose.
I’ll try and track down the closest store to you that stocks it, or is willing to stock it, and be in touch soon.

    Hi Rafi,

This website is shaping up really well.

I have recently gone vegan, and I wonder if your team would be kind enough to have a section of the site dedicated to the vegan community that highlights the products that are meat-free and dairy-free?

It would also be wonderful if you had a section dedicated to vegan recipes that could be created from Cauldron products - it’ll help me get a little more creative the next time I’m preparing a special dinner, and save me trawling through all the recipes to find out which ones are dairy-free.

    Much warmth,
    Suraj

I agree with Lynda it’s one of my staple diet foods too!

I so adore Marinated Tofu pieces and it’s simple to which is great for busy people too! Unfortunately I’m experiencing the same problems in Cardiff. I just find someone who stocks it and then they stop! I can’t work out why, as it always appears to be in demand.

I wonder if you have a list of shops that are presently stocking this item? Then I can bulk buy :0).

    Your seekingly

    Cherry
    Thank you!

    Hi Cherry,
It’s quite a process tracking down all the stores that stock our products - our customers often don’t tell us! I can have a go for you and Lynda next week after I’ve got back from our first sampling event in Clapham and try to track down the nearest supermarket.

We recently had a similar request from a customer in Somerset, and in the end I tracked down a Holland and Barratt near his town, who were willing to order in a Cauldron product for him on the following week’s delivery. If you have time, give it a go. There are 3 stores in the Cardiff region and I can see they have one store in Rotheram, near Sheffield.

Just ask for our Organic Marinated Tofu Pieces.
    Good luck

    Hi Suraj,
Thank you for the great feedback
We’ll certainly look into highlighting which of our products are vegan and which recipes are - if we find we’re short of recipes, we’ll create a few more.
Just bear with us, we’re new to this whole website thing, so it may take a week or so to arrange. In the meantime, I did find this website, which seemed to have lots of interesting recipes, although I haven’t tried any myself.

I too am having trouble tracking down suppliers - I live in Southampton and tofu has totally disappeared from the Tesco I use and the health food shops and Co-op near my mother only have the “bog standard” version (which I don’t like that much). There used to be a good dry, marinated one (can’t remember the exact name) which I really liked but that disappeared months ago. I know I need the stuff (for the calcium as I’m not good with dairy) but the lack of variety is frustrating - I end up stir-frying it with noodles and lots of spices but it’s a struggle to get through a whole block of the “wet” one before it goes off (and haven’t got a freezer at the moment) - any ideas and any info on suppliers would be gratefully received.

Can marinated tofu be used straight from the pack in salads or must you cook it first?

I’m having the same problems as Linda - i live in Chapeltown as well… i’ve tried all supermarkets and many of the surrounding Holland & Barrett stores.. but to no avail.
    Help.. i love the stuff.

I too am having the same problem obtaining organic marinated tofu pieces. I used to use them all the time straight from the pack with a salad-so convenient. I’m from the Scarborough area and our local Tesco and Morrisons used to stock them but now don’t-please can you give me the nearest stockists.

    Hi

I live in St Neots, and my local Waitrose and local Tesco, who used to sell the Cauldron Golden Marinated Tofu, and then the Marinated Tofu (which I believe replaced the Golden Tofu ?) have both stopped selling either product.

Both myself and my son (about to go to Uni) LOVE these products, and as committed veggies are deeply disappointed not to be able to buy them. On the rare occasion I could find the product in Waitrose I used to buy loads and freeze them !

    HELP !!

    Thank you

    MM

  12. Milliesmum says:

Jenny - My son wolfs it down straight from the pack. Occasionally he’ll whack it in the microwave for a few seconds (in a dish if he has to !) but it’s great just as it is, or in salads, or with a jacket spud etc etc.

MMMmmmm, yum. Just wish I could find some locally !

These are great - I have them for lunch, just microwaved for 2 minutes, on their own - even mirowaved they still turn crispy! I’ve never had any luck preparing tofu myself, so these are ideal. Are they pre-fried as well as marinated to make them crispy like this?

  14. Emma says:

Hi there, I’m glad there are so many fans of this product - I used to think I was alone with this one - and yes, I eat it straight from the packet and have to ration myself while making a stir-fry in case I eat it all before putting it in the wok. It’s by far the nicest way to eat tofu and I’ve never eaten tofu I liked so much, even in a restaurant. I do find the supermarkets sporadic in their stocking of this product, which is really annoying, and I bulk buy it too whenever I see it. I didn’t know you could freeze it so thanks for that Millesmum. Just as a health point of interest, I’ve noticed since eating lots of tofu regularly that I don’t get period pains any more…

PS - if you want to make ordinary tofu more palatable, cut it into bits, marinate it overnight in soya sauce, ginger, garlic and chilli and a tiny bit of oil and lemon juice, and then when you cook it, put it in a very hot pan and press down hard with your spatula so it really crisps up.

  15. Milliesmum says:

Hi Helen - where do you manage to buy yours from ? I’m getting desperate now !
